A key role within our purchasing team, this position will be responsible for planning and purchasing materials requirements with allocated suppliers to ensure timely supply of parts to support business needs.
 
Working to continuously strive to reduce costs, manage inventory levels and ensure quality, this role will work with suppliers to improve delivery systems (JIT, VMI, Kanban), maximize supplier response and minimize inventory and contribute to processes to eliminate waste throughout the Supply Chain.
 
A strong negotiator, you will provide the commercial interface with suppliers, support new product introduction processes with sub-contract suppliers and develop regular reviews and metrics with strategic suppliers.
 
With a solid understanding of MRP systems, the post holder will identify and purchase MRP requirement, understand MRP / MPS item parameters, expedite delivery of components to schedule and organize issue and control of free material.
 
A highly focused team player you will be a key interface with internal departments such as engineering and operations, as well as external suppliers.
 
Ideally candidates will have experience of electro-mechanical or electronics, purchasing PCBAs from subcontract suppliers.  You will have a good understanding of NPI processes and ideally have previous experience supporting outsourcing / subcontracting.  You will have a proven background in contract negotiation and cost reduction.  Chinese / Mandarin language skills would be an advantage.
