The optical fiber submarine cable site in Port Botany has shipped over 75,000 kilometers of submarine cable for SND projects around the world, with a total export value of more than 1.6 billion Australian dollars.
To assist in the efficient loading of fiber cables into ships at the Sydney Australia Submarine plant, Alcatel has installed a Clear-Com Party-line Intercom System which may be adapted and relocated to suit each particular loading operation.
Interfacing to existing 2-way radio bases has increased the flexibility of the system with mobile operational personnel being able to communicate with wall- and desk-mounted intercom stations throughout the plant. The 2 channels of 2-wire screened cabling throughout the plant enables talk/listen stations to be simply added or removed as required.
