New York Network
What do CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC and ABC have in common besides a three letter ID? Access to New York Network's new 15,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art digital satellite teleport in Albanyequiped with the latest in broadcast and videoconferencing gear.

NYN was designed for maximum flexibility and is SD/HD capable. All systems can be upgraded to HD with a minimum of expense. "When developing the facility, we tried to look into the technological crystal ball and put us at a place where we wouldn't have to be replacing things a couple of years down the road" said Bill Snyder, executive director of NYN. "We wanted to look out as far as we could without dealing with vaporware or wild sales claims."
Sony System Integration chose Clear-Com's Matrix Plus 3 as the communications system. The ICS-2003 display stations, part of that system, allow dynamic changes on the fly to accommodate the two-person "satellite hits" from the new mini-transmission studio. AP-22 assignment panels and ICS-92 stations work seamlessly to support six digital video channels serving the SUNYSAT Network. Numerous IFB feeds and remote telephone activity are handled by ten TEL-14 interfaces and handed off to talent on multiple IFB-104 I/O panels. NYN is a large facilityClear-Com WBS-680 dual channel wireless intercom packs working with the Matrix system provide the needed communication to keep production moving quickly without the hassle of dragging cables.
Greater availability of satellite time and cost effective, high quality digital transmission service are the cornerstones of NYN's operation. And Matrix Plus 3 is part of the flexible, responsive production system that makes that possible.
