TV2 Midwest order 4000 Series II intercom for
brand new OB Van
News Release: September 13, 2004
TV2 Midwest, Denmark’s most prestigious broadcaster, has today at IBC ordered a brand new 4000 Series II intercom from the newly combined Clear-Com & Drake. This is TV2’s 12th 4000 Series II; it will be used in their OB Van at TV2 Midwest. The order was placed in conjunction with MCI Videotronics of Copenhagen, who has recently been appointed as the Danish distributor for the full range of Clear-Com branded broadcast talkback systems and products.
The 16? metre OB van will house a 4000 Series II matrix with 128 ports and focus mainly on live sports production. The 4000 Series II offers unrivalled crosspoint, CPU and power supply redundancy, making it ideal for all broadcast applications. The van will also include eighteen 4222 LCD refresh panels offering an unrivalled match of features, functionality and performance.
TV2 Midwest is an existing 4000 Series II customer where the powerful matrix is found in their studios throughout Denmark. Olav Helms, Technical Project Manager for TV2 adds “One of the main reasons for selecting the 4000 was that our users are familiar with the system, and they like the versatility and performance. The future possibilities for expanding the system means that as we grow, so can the system.”
Future plans include using FreeSpeak, the world’s first digital, cellular, wireless intercom, during productions to enable TV2 staff to have full mobility whilst staying in constant communication.
The SD OB van has expandable sides with two production areas and 16 cameras. Installation will begin early next year and the van will be ready for action on 1st May 2005.
