Tempest2400 offers Multi-Modes of Operations, with each mode providing varying level of communication flexibility and user capacity. Unlimited number of users is possible in Split and Shared Modes. In Normal Mode, up to 10 BaseStations and 5 full-duplex wireless BeltStations can operate on one system with no frequency coordination required.
The systems maintain the high quality voice audio with the Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology and can function in very high ambient noise environments with extremely high audio dynamics range (>94dB). Patented RF architecture allows the system to co-exist with Wi-Fi networks. iSelect On Command Roaming allows users to move from one coverage to another. BaseStation features Seamless Roaming, Stage Announce, Unique GPIO Contact Closures, and Remote Talk Kill; BeltStation features Vibrate Call function, Discreet audio path for point-to-point communication, Unique GPO addressing and more. No license fee required.
The all new Tempest2400 MasterBelt delivers the power, features and reliability in a portable and compact package.
ETSI Compatibility as of January 1, 2015
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has mandated a change in the way wireless products operate in the 2.4GHz bands. This new directive, EN 300 328 v1.8.1, requires Clear-Com to modify its Tempest2400 wireless intercom products and ship only v1.8.1 compliant products into countries that require CE compliance, beginning January 1, 2015.
What is EN 300 328 v1.8.1?
A new ETSI standard to address inteference issues within the 2.4GHz ISM band.
The main changes relate to how devices communicate and allocate radio space when they are in the same area. A new "adaptive mode" is required, which provides a mechanism so equipment can adapt to its environment by identifying other transmissions present in the 2.4GHz band.
How will this affect Clear-Com Tempest2400 products?
Clear-Com has modified its Tempest2400 wireless intercom products to be v1.8.1 compliant and created new model numbers for products sold in EU countries.
Characteristics of new v1.8.1 compliant product:
- BeltStations and BaseStations are not backwards compatible with earlier Tempest2400 products.
- Testing is more important when installing in order to determine antenna placement and coverage area, particularly when other 2.4GHz equipment is nearby.
