Concert Trial Installation Steps Summary

Thank you for your interest in Concert. To install the Concert system, please follow the 3 steps below:

The Concert Trial system already comes pre-configured with 5 sample users and 5 conferences.

  1. Install a Linux Server
The Concert Server runs on the Linux Operating System. This step will help you install and configure a Linux server.

Concert is currently supported on two versions of Linux:
    - CentOS 5.x (Free and unsupported)
    - Red Hat 5.x (License fees and supported)

For your trial version, we recommend you to install CentOS 5.x off the Clear-Com Concert Install DVD. If you already have an appropriate server, please proceed to step 2.

Below are the steps to install CentOS from a DVD

To install using CD's, please go to Installing CentOS from CDs, then carry on from part 2 of this guide.

    A. Download the CentOS O/S DVD Concert_Install_DVD from the following link:  Clear-Com-Concert-Server-DVD-ISO
Note: This step may take 1-2 hours depending on your Internet connection.

    B. Create an installation DVD (bootable) with this file using a DVD burner.

    C. Install CentOS on a dedicated server using the Clear-Com Concert Quick Start Guide.
The Linux installation should take about 30 minutes with minimum user interaction.
         For detailed CentOS
installation instructions, refer to the Clear-Com Concert Server Installation Manual

  2. Install Concert Server software on the Linux Server
This will install the Concert Server software on your newly installed Linux Server. This should take less than a minute.

There are 3 ways of doing this - use B or C if you have installed the Linux server from CDs.
A. From the Clear-Com Concert Install DVD.  See the Clear-Com Concert Quick Start Guide for details.

B. Via the Linux 'yum' command. See the Clear-Com Concert Server Installation Manual for details.
IMPORTANT: For the Concert Server installation process using the Linux yum command, your Linux server must be connected to the Internet.

C. Download the Concert Server software from the Clear-Com website from the following link: Clear-Com-Concert-Server-tar.gz-File
While logged in as root, copy the Concert Server Zip file to the Linux server desktop.
Expand the Zip file into a 'Concert' Folder on the desktop.
Double-click the 'Concert' folder to open it.
Double-click on the 'Concert_All.sh' file to start the Concert installation.
A pop-up window will be opened, then click on 'Run in Terminal'.
The Concert server will be installed and started.

Please see Clear-Com Concert Administrator Guide for configuring the server.
