Configuring an external IP address
Use an external or public IP address for the Link-Master when routing LQ devices over firewalls (this is almost always the case when connecting over the Internet). A Link-Master connected to devices beyond a firewall will always use an external IP address. An external port address is required for the Link-Master if port forwarding rules have been applied to TCP port 80 in the firewall.
Link-Members will use external addressing and ports if port forwarding rules in the firewall apply to them. See Internet connectivity for an example configuration.
