Any Live performance, whether it’s a band on tour or a production at a theatre, has timing at its core. From lighting and sound to camera angles for giant video screens, cues must be given at precise moments to produce a seamless event.
One of the challenges of Live performance is the need to marry an existing intercom system at the location with one that tours with the show. Clear-Com’s Eclipse HX can connect analog, digital or wireless systems together to form a flexible system without a degradation in audio quality. Variations in frame size combined with interface cards and modules allow the Eclipse HX to easily adapt to an any Audio Engineer’s use case.
Major college conferences have found a lucrative opportunity in sports programming and many have decided to create their own sports networks. This has driven the need for more sports content from universities within each conference. Many college campuses have a Control room at a main arena, but will utilize Fly-Packs to remote to other fields or locales to cover additional sports. The Fly-Pack uses fiber or a CAT5 run to tie back to the main Control room for broadcast functionality.
The main stadium houses an Eclipse HX frame as a hub for Control room staff on panels. Camera and lighting positions around the stadium are connected with digital partyline beltpacks. Announcers use an analog console with intercom, IFB and Mute. A given Fly-Packs uses the same equipment, but leverages the production staff in the Control room. Wireless systems are also deployed as necessary.
Theme parks aren’t just about rides, but large productions as well. Stunt shows, musicals, concerts and parades all require precise timing and communication to ensure an engaging show. Each of these events can leverage both wired and wireless intercom communication making the Eclipse HX the perfect host for these systems.
An Eclipse HX frame is truly the center piece for connecting mobile staff with stationary positions. Stationary staff utilize panels to speak directly with mobile positions in the field. Be it talent moving in a parade or the crowd control securing the parade route, team members can take direction from management in the control room to ensure a smooth-running entertaining event.
Live internet video feeds have made church congregations grow beyond a localized region. Popular Pastors or Priests can carry their sermons to a wider audience via the internet. This has driven a church’s technological aspects far beyond just a handheld camera’s video to be watched at a later date. Producing and broadcasting sermons has become a sophisticated undertaking that greatly benefits the church and its worshippers.
The Eclipse HX system is a great fit for churches looking to manage a large production. Technical directors can communicate to mobile crews within the church through wireless beltpacks, to the Priest or Pastor via IFB, or to the video switch board operator on a panel. The matrix system offers the church seamless communications throughout the production for a smooth delivery for all audiences.
The Eclipse HX digital matrix frame is a great fit for marine environments. Because much of the marine infrastructure both on and off-shore is made of metal, communication systems can be difficult to implement. Clear-Com’s digital matrix frame runs primarily over CAT5/6 cable making integration light-weight, straight forward. In many cases, the Eclipse HX can leverage existing wiring within the marine environment.
Using a dive support vessel as an example, an Eclipse HX frame can be positioned at a central control room. Desktop panels, rack panels and speaker stations can then be positioned on specific decks. Point-to-point communication capability then allows direct communication with individuals or teams. The Bridge can communicate directly with the crane operator and ROV control to make quick decisions about on or off-boarding a submersible. Dependability in extreme environments makes Eclipse a perfect fit for offshore communications integration.
A major benefit to the Eclipse HX matrix frame is the sheer number of users that can be added to the system. Multiple frames with multiple interface cards using intelligent trunking and connect thousands of users to an overall system. This is of great benefit when extremely large operations are being managed.
The launch or management of multiple airborne vehicles requires numerous teams of people to interact directly with each other – each responsible for a specific activity within the overall scope of a given project. Additionally, Clear-Com provides multiple Eclipse HX endpoints for each user to utilize. From 32 lever panels that can provide 280 reachable endpoints to speaker stations or beltpacks that provide just a few, Clear-Com’s digital matrix is essential for any MAG related project.
IP communication capabilities are a must when connecting users over long distances. The internet has become core to communication and its ubiquitous nature is something Clear-Com has taken advantage of. Since the Eclipse HX system is a digital matrix, connections to other frames and panels can be done via TCP-IP. Port management and forwarding rules allow communications to ingress through Firewalls and into switches at any given facility.
For example, a Municipal Water District can house an Eclipse HX matrix frame at its main office, then connect via the internet to multiple remote buildings to provide direction and management to ancillary employees. Each remote building can have a simple desktop panel and WiFi router connected to their local switch. Agent-IC can be used with the router to communicate key details from mobile positions back to the desktop panel at the remote building, or back to management at the main office.
