OB Production Trucks

Depending on the size and extent of production of OB truck, the intercom needs may differ. For small vehicles and only handful of positions, a simple 2-wire Encore Analog Partyline or HelixNet Digital Partyline systems would be sufficient for talking to teams in the field or broadcast station. For field reporters or broadcast journalists, they may use Agent-IC mobile app with IFB support, which is fully connected to the partyline system over LQ IP Interfaces. Audio, video and control can be transported over the wide area remote via ProGrid or MUX-22-CC solutions.

Broadcast Studio

In the broadcast studio that requires the most flexibility, a central Eclipse HX digital matrix system serves as the communications backbone. Users in the facility could talk on the V-Series panels, FreeSpeak II integrated wireless beltpack, or virtual panels such as the Agent-IC mobile app that runs on PCs or Smart devices. Within the studio, any A1 or A2 engineer may want to hear audio from a Dante-enabled mixing consoles. The E-Dante64-HX can facilitate this direct connection. Between the studio and OB trucks in the field, LQ IP Interfaces are deployed to create a network of linked intercom systems over IP connectivity.

Wide-Area Campus Broadcast

For broadcast entities spanning across multiple studios, networking multiple Eclipse HX matrices together over multi-channel digital audio or fiber, using Dante , AES67 (E-Dante64-HX), IP (E-IPA-HX or IVC-32-HX), or MADI (E-MADI64-HX) are all possibilities as is simple 4-wire audio. Dynam-EC provides a central, graphical view for administrators to efficiently assign, manage and monitor in real time all the audio routes, IFBs and partylines from the multiple intercom systems. Operators from anywhere can connect to this matrix network over IP-enabled V-Series panels panels, or Agent-IC mobile apps. Locally, operators can roam about within each facility on FreeSpeak II wireless.

Integrating Production Intercom Systems Using Existing LAN/WAN IP Networks within Broadcast and Live Events

Dependable internal communications for the staff of an event is a necessity. A quality presentation can only be achieved when personnel involved in the production can communicate quickly and reliably. When a variety of different technologies are involved, achieving this can be challenging. This white paper explains methods of connection of two-wire “party-line” and four-wire intercom systems by using existing and available LAN and WAN IP network technology.
