CellCom10® Upgraded Features Meet the Needs of a Busy Production Staff

Oklahoma City, April 14, 2008 – On any given Sunday, Crossings Community Church of Oklahoma City, OK, serves its 4,000 plus member congregation in three services led by Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs with music provided by a 120-piece chorus and a full orchestra, all of which are networked via world leading intercom provider, Clear-Com® (NAB, Booth C5908).

For nearly two years, Clear-Com’s CellCom10® digital wireless system has provided the church staff with the flexibility and freedom of unlimited access to roam around the large, 290,000 square foot facility while staying closely connected. Prior to its release of the CellCom10 Version 1.5.7 product, which is being showcased at this year’s NAB, the church beta-tested it and was more than pleased with the performance and experience.

“For services as well as special productions, Clear-Com is invaluable,” says Chuck Timmons, Director of Media Ministries, which handles all programming including audio, video, lighting, mixing and media programming for regular and special services. “For a production like ours, you must have reliable communications among the technical staff. Clear-Com’s new CellCom10 Version 1.5.7 is equipped with all of the features we’ve been looking for, particularly its new call alert option.”

For an average service, Crossings Community Church uses up to seven wired and three wireless beltpacks. For special productions, it can use up to 12 or 13 wired in conjunction with the three wireless units.CellCom10 Version 1.5.7 offers new features and functionality including vibration alerts, which allows the user to be alerted when the headset is removed from the ear, as well as a remote battery monitoring display and remote microphone kill control, both of which available from the Basestation. Timmons says he is also impressed with the improved configuration software that allows for individual labeling of the user’s beltpacks and the creation of communication routes and conference groups, which is designed to make beltpack configuration easier for on-the-fly operations and to enhance connectivity with Party-line.

“Clear-Com is the industry standard. People buy it because it works,” says Timmons. “It’s rock solid.”

Note: CellCom® and FreeSpeak® are different brands representing the same digital wireless intercom system (with minor technical differences). Due to trademark limitations, CellCom10 and CellCom50 are only available the USA and Canada; FreeSpeak10 and FreeSpeak50 are available in all other countries.
