Clear-Com Powers Critical Communications at Rock in Rio 2026

10/8/2026

ALAMEDA, USA – October 8, 2026 – Clear-Com® played a critical role in the production communications infrastructure for Rock in Rio 2026, one of the world’s largest and most recognized music festivals. With multiple stages, major international and Brazilian artists, and a live broadcast operation reaching audiences around the world, Rock in Rio demands communications technology that can perform reliably at an exceptional scale. The deployment was supported by Savana Comunicação Ltd., a Clear-Com partner in Brazil, helping deliver and support the communications infrastructure for the event.

For the 2026 festival, Clear-Com solutions provided the communications solutions connecting production teams across the event, while also creating a seamless link between the festival site and TV Globo’s broadcast facilities.

The deployment featured four Clear-Com Arcadia® Central Station systems supporting approximately 50 wireless FreeSpeak® II and FreeSpeak Icon™ beltpacks. A combination of E1 and IP-connected FreeSpeak transceivers provided wireless coverage across the festival’s production areas, giving teams the mobility and flexibility needed to coordinate a large-scale, multi-stage live event.

The system’s capabilities extended beyond the festival grounds. One of the standout elements of the deployment was the integration between Rock in Rio’s on-site communications infrastructure and TV Globo’s broadcast operation. The Arcadia systems were connected via Dante over a dedicated network to the broadcaster’s facilities, providing audio connectivity between the festival’s Arcadia systems and Clear-Com Eclipse® matrix infrastructure.

This integration enabled on-site production and broadcast teams to operate within a connected communications environment, helping streamline coordination between the live event and the television production. Multishow, a TV channel operated by Globo, broadcast the shows live.

“Rock in Rio is an incredibly demanding production environment, with teams working across multiple stages and production areas while simultaneously supporting a major live broadcast,” said João Pedro Homem, Savana Comunicacoes Ltd.’s Director of Engineering. “The Clear-Com system gave the production teams the flexibility of wireless communications while seamlessly connecting the festival operation with the broadcaster. It’s a strong example of how the system can scale and work together across even the most complex live productions.”
