IP Communications

Clear-Com’s suite of IP offerings enables enterprise-wide communications, remote intercom access, and connectivity to industry-standard intercom and audio devices over LAN, WAN or IP networks. All Clear-Com IP solutions are designed and based on a unique Intercom-over-IP platform, which delivers low latency communications and superb audio quality through the use of a wideband proprietary codec.

The advantages of IP based intercom are significant. Because many contemporary sites are already wired with network ready CAT5e/6 cabling, Clear-Com IP intercom systems can be added without major infrastructure updates. With the additional explosion of internet ready products, internet access is becoming readily available and ubiquitous via hardwire, Wi-Fi and cellular signal. This provides a proven pathway to have a secure intercom signal carried to virtually any location.

Audio-over-IP

The distribution of digital audio across an IP network, such as the Internet, is being used increasingly to provide high-quality audio feeds over long distances.

LQ Series IP Interfaces

LQ Series devices provide intercom connectivity for linking multiple systems together over IP networks, extending intercom channels to remote locations, adding mobile clients and SIP/VoIP telephony to existing intercom systems, and enable extra audio I/O for both HelixNet and Eclipse HX systems.

LQ Series IP interfaces enable connection of 2-wire partyline, 4-wire or 4-wire with GPIO audio over LAN, WAN or Internet IP infrastructures. The LQ Series consists of compact throwdown boxes and rack-mounted LQ-R panels, available in 2-, 4- or 8-port versions. The 2-wire ports are Clear-Com and RTS compatible. The 4-wire ports can interconnect with devices, such as analog ports of any matrix intercom system, analog telephone circuits, two-way radio gateways and audio consoles.

Eclipse HX Digital Matrix

The Eclipse HX digital matrix is both flexible and scalable in supporting numerous types of communication for hundreds of users on hundreds of channels. The Clear-Com digital matrix systems distribute all signals, whether those are from intercom panels and beltpacks or other sources/destinations such as two-way radios, phone lines, and paging systems. But it’s real strength is delivering communications via IP.

Utilizing a suite of card inserts, the system is IP ready with the ability to connect to endpoints over copper, fiber, cellular or satellite. The system can provide partyline, fixed group and point-to-point connections all while providing high quality, low latent audio that surpasses typical “government” communications systems. With improved intelligibility and performance, users are able to increase operational speed, accuracy and security even with larger systems.

Best use case scenarios include Command and Control (both large and small), Flight Test, Training and Simulation, and Test and Evaluation.

Trilogy Mercury Interface Unit (MIU)

The Mercury Interface Unit is a multi-purpose device that provides multi-channel real-time voice communication, radio interoperability, conventional and VoIP telephony, and other capabilities over terrestrial and/or satellite networks. It can be used as a single-site or standalone intercom system of up to 32 users in close proximity (up to 1500 ft). The MIU acts as a versatile audio processing unit and IP gateway allowing a wide range of external devices to be connected to the intercom network.

Best use case scenarios include Ground Control Stations, Cross Domain Solutions, Radio Interfacing and Bridging, and Test and Evaluation.

Trilogy Mercury Communicator Unit (MCU)

The Mercury Communicator Unit is a high performance peer-to-peer multi-operator station designed for critical communication in small to large-scale operations. The matrix-less architecture facilitates virtually unlimited scalability with each unite being able to simultaneously communicate with up to 64 endpoints and host up to 32 virtual panel applications.

The MCU’s primary function is to provide support for single operator connectivity, but can also seamlessly interface with other Mercury products, like the Mercury Interface Unit (MIU). The resilience of the Mercury system coupled with the ability to integrate with the certified Mercury Cross Domain Solutions enables the MCU to operate in any mission critical environment where security is paramount.

Best use case scenarios include Cross Domain Solutions and critical mission control environments.

FreeSpeak II Digital Wireless

FreeSpeak II IP based Transceivers give users the ability to have wireless capability anywhere there is internet access. In combination with an Eclipse frame with an E-IPA card, up to 50 Transceivers in the US or up to 64 Transceivers in EU countries can be connected via copper or fiber over an AES67 compliant network. This forms an expansive wireless network for continuous communication.

The distributed transceivers allow FreeSpeak II wireless beltpack users to freely roam inside or outside of a facility while staying constantly connected. This is achieved through the Cellular Roaming capability between distributed Transceivers. Using the 1.9GHz DECT band, each powered Transceiver can create a coverage zone of up to 300 feet (indoor) or up to 800 feet (outdoor).

HelixNet Digital Partyline

HelixNet is a wired digital IP partyline system. All audio channels, program audio and distributed Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) can run on a facility’s standard IT network infrastructure. A central station provides control and typically power to the other user stations. Digital partyline allows everyone on a given channel to listen and speak to everyone else on the channel. Common digital partyline systems provide 2 or 4 channels of intercom, HelixNet provides 12 full duplex channels with an expansion to 24 channels.

For staffed positions, HelixNet can offer users cabled beltpacks with either CAT5 or 2-wire powerline and access to two channels. Additionally, desktop boxes or wall mounted 4-channel speaker stations are also available. A rack-mounted main station provides access to all channels as well as power.

Best use case scenarios are Test and Evaluation and separated building applications.

Agent-IC Mobile App

When your core intercom user group needs to include additional or remote users, providing additional communication access could be a challenge and cost prohibitive. The Agent-IC mobile app can scale your existing intercom system through an IT network with WiFi or cellular.

The Agent-IC application provides you with a cost-effective and fast-to-deploy solution that supplements traditional intercom systems such as the Eclipse HX digital matrix, Encore analog partyline and HelixNet digital partyline intercom systems. Agent-IC apps operate on smart devices over 3G, 4G, LTE and WiFi networks.

Radio-over-IP

Push-to-Talk handsets and other two-way communication systems are commonly used in Marine and Offshore environments because they are convenient and easy to use. However, these systems can be limiting because they are stand-alone and unable to communicate or expand to other areas of the vessel or crew member groups when needed. Clear-Com has a variety of ways to interface radios to provide bridging between radios and seamless interfacing to intercom systems facilitating one-to-many or full-duplex conferences to maintain continuous conversations on one or more lines. Now, anyone can join the conversation.

Clear-Com Gateway

Clear-Com Gateway is an IP interface that allows you to link and bridge different communications systems such as radios, intercoms, telephones and IP networks in order to deliver advanced radio bridging, radio interfacing and IP connectivity on a single platform.

Gateway supports Voice-over-IP (VoIP), Session Internet Protocol (SIP) and Radio-over-IP interfacing to Clear-Com intercom systems for expanding communication workflow with IP-based platforms.
