Clear-Com® Provides Additional Matrix Systems for TVN, Germany

Clear-Com®, a Vitec Group brand and global leader of trusted intercom systems, has been chosen by TVN GROUP, one of Germany’s leading TV, Film and Outside Broadcast production companies, to equip their new state-of-the-art TVN UE3HD OB truck with matrix intercom systems to expand their communication network.

TVN were so pleased with the reliability and high-performance of the existing matrix systems, already installed in two of their trucks, that Clear-Com was their preferred choice to equip their new OB truck. Clear-Com and distributor MCI worked together to provide a flexible networked solution for TVN.

The new OB truck has been fitted with a Clear-Com Eclipse®Matrix with 32 digital and 96 analogue ports, and the new Eclipse PiCo digital matrix. In addition to this, Clear-Com has developed a unique LCD desktop panel to meet TVN’s exact installation requirements.

The Eclipse range is the most advanced digital intercom matrix available, offering unparalleled levels of flexibility, versatility and expandability to match changing communications needs. The Eclipse digital intercom system is designed specifically to meet the complex demands of today’s broadcasters. The intercom matrices have been designed to share the same core functionality, user panels and accessories. The TVN system supports 54 panels with fibre interfaces. Its rugged design also makes it particularly suitable for OB and location applications.

Compact and highly functional, the Eclipse PiCo is ideal for mobile production applications like the TVN OB truck, but equally suitable for small to medium sized studios as well.

“We have worked with Clear-Com for a long time,” said Frank Beekmann, Chief Production Engineer at TVN, “and we’ve had very good experience with this highly flexible communications system. So it made sense for us, when we wanted to expand the system to go with the latest Clear-Com Eclipse solution. This enables us to continue building up our OB fleet with one completely compatible, networked intercom solution,” he added.
